Bro. Beardsley Retirement
UGST and UC are blessed by quality, dedicated leadership at all levels. The Urshan board was a significant component in founding and achieving initial accreditation of the seminary and with the acquisition of the undergraduate program. Bro. James Beardsley provided consistent quality leadership on the board from its founding until his retirement from the board at its last meeting.
Bro. Beardsley's experiences as a rocket scientist, educator, church planter, and district official served as gifts he brought to each new challenge the board faced. His service as the board vice chair and Academic Affairs Committee chair extended far beyond the two annual board meetings. During the 2008-2010 self study, Bro. Beardsley generously served as a member of the academic issues sub committee. His intensive participation for those two years will continue to have an impact on the school's faculty and curriculum for years to come.
Bro. Beardsley's passions included assessment of faculty needs and identifying pre-doctoral scholars who could impact UGST and the wider Apostolic movement. He always advocated for delivery of a quality education and was willing to do whatever it took to ensure it happened. He even invited students to participate in church planting internships at the Newark, Delaware church. As a friend to faculty and students alike, Bro. Beardsley will be sorely missed.
